I did more than leave a suggestion for you; I posted this at my Win a Book blog. I hope Dr. Lanse gets lots of great ideas for marketing from my readers, and I hope some of them pan out. (If this counts as an entry, there’s no need to enter me. I’m just doing a service here.)

What about contacting one of the programs on tv that are known for advancing causes? Such as the early morning shows or the Big Idea. talk shows, etc? I bet you could find a sponser. What about the Oprah show for example?

I would say to promote the book on the Internet anywhere that you can. “Mom” blogs would be a good place for this type of book, maybe offer review copies to blog owners to review and get the word out.

To advertise this book e-mail all the teachers and education staff at the elementary schools in the area. They are all listed on the schoold district web site. Link them with your book offer and watch them come. Teachers want what is best for kids and would love to save some money by getting somethins free.

Does he play an instrument? Maybe he can come up with a fun and musical way to present the idea behind the material in the book to the kids, both at schools and in libraries. Of course, having parents and teachers present is always a plus, so they can see how effective it can be. When word spreads, he can expend his shows to other areas (perhaps at their expense or he can suggest that they apply for an educational grant to pay for his show).
