Book Marketing Buzz: Book Promotion & Publicity Tips: How to Promote Your Books is a continuing series to help authors learn how to promote their books. If you would like to be a guest blogger for our book promotion and publicity series, click here.

Our guest blogger for today is action/mystery/thriller author D.H. Brown, author of Honor Due.

For the fundamentals of marketing HONOR DUE, I have a website, www.dhbrownbooks.com,  an official MySpace, www.myspace.com/dhbrownbooks,  and have joined many of the author sites that offer space to post a bio, reviews and excerpts of the book. Press releases have been sent out and Sell Sheets sent to many of the independent book sellers in the Northwest. My publisher contacted all the local newspapers in our neck of the woods and sent copies of the book, offering to have me available for email interviews. Many copies have been requested by reviewers all across the web. I’ve also given copies of HONOR DUE to all the local libraries. When the book was featured in The Seniors Sunset Times, I dumped a hundred copies of the paper off at the Seattle VA hospital. Lastly but not the least, I invested in a good blog tour like this one, Pump Your Book Promotion. Google D. H. Brown and HONOR DUE and there are several thousand hits or so I’m told by my wife. Of course I wouldn’t be caught dead doing that. ;-)

D. H. BROWN has worked as a Logistics and Weapons Specialist in Vietnam; day laborer; Director of Security; Armored Car Driver; Police Officer; Professional Hunting Guide; Trapper; Dog Sledder; Homesteader; Truck Driver; General Contractor; Minister; Editor; Writer; Speaker; Restaurateur; Movie Producer; Antique Restoration Specialist; Personal Care Worker; PC Repair Specialist; Computer Instructor; Book Reviewer; Webmaster and Web Designer. He writes about what he knows. He lives deep in the Pacific Northwest rainforest with his wife, author and editor R. J. Brown and Buddy Dog, working on his next book.
